New Connector Interfaces And Manifolds From HarnessflexAmong the new products being launched by Harnessflex, the specialist conduit systems manufacturer, are manifold fittings, Deutsch interfaces and a new family of dedicated interfaces.
The new space-saving X-piece is a two-piece fitting designed to snap together over different types of slit or unslit conduit. It includes NC, CPTA, modified PP and deep section PP conduit systems without restricting the bore to create a crossover or manifold. In addition to simple assembly these fittings have reduced distance between the centres and can snap together to produce a manifold format, eliminating the need for short conduit runs between fittings.
Examples of the new FCI Automotive family of interfaces are on show for the first time and destined for future automotive projects. Also launched at the show is a complete range of Deutsch DT series interfaces. The 22 fittings offer high integrity connections between the electrical interface and the conduit system ensuring no vehicle wiring is left exposed or vulnerable.
"What these fittings allow is the ability to protect an automotive wiring harness at one of its most vulnerable points," explained Bob Rudd of Harnessflex. "Left unprotected, the electrical connection could easily be exposed to corrosive elements causing intermittent or complete vehicle failure. This can be so costly."
Other fittings are suitable for use with a wide variety of connectors, such as Bosch, ITT, Kostal, Tyco etc, and help downsize harness packages, while ensuring connector and system integrity.
Where multiple conduit breakouts are required, in-line circular manifolds allow protected cables to come from the main harness to strategic locations about the vehicle body. New, highly versatile in-line splitters offer protected multiway breakouts in the tight confines of vehicle engine compartments.
A comprehensive range of flexible conduits and fittings, including sealed X pieces, 90° elbows, manifolds, flanges; hinges, T-pieces, multi-way reducers, Y-pieces, and in-line manifolds are on show.
The Harnessflex specialist conduit system offers a high degree of protection to cables and particularly the increasingly popular thin wall cable. In such circumstances the systems not only provide protection, but also strain relief for the harness in total. This is particularly suitable on HGVs, PSVs, trailers, diggers, tippers and agricultural vehicles.
"We are actively looking to expand our export markets and working closely with OEMs across Europe and indeed the world," added Bob Rudd.
