Versatile X-piece Fitting From Harnessflex Maximises Space In A Crowded Engine CompartmentEnhancing vehicle wiring harness protection and offering crossover and manifold capabilities is a new X-piece fitting from Harnessflex.
Designed to snap together over different types of slit or unslit conduit, the two-piece fitting offers four junctions and because it fits externally around the conduit it doesn't restrict the bore, which would reduce the wire carrying capability.
A series of X-pieces can be linked together to create multiple outlet options in effect forming a manifold through which the wiring harness can be safely routed. Used in this manner the X-pieces can reduce the overall size of a manifold eliminating the need for short conduit runs between the fittings.
In addition to ease of assembly the fittings have reduced distance between centres, high pull-off strength with the conduit corrugations sitting tightly into the X-piece junctions.
"Our ability to cost-effectively develop and manufacture system solutions such as the X-piece fitting is largely down to our manufacturing capability," explained Bob Rudd of Harnessflex. "We work closely with OEMs and connector manufacturers at the early design stages eliminating any potential threat to circuit integrity."
Combining a full range of slit and un-slit conduit, fittings and connectors the Harnessflex system offers full electrical system integrity protecting any vulnerable parts of a vehicle's electrical harness as well as affording stability and support for the system. Its use ensures that there are no vulnerable connectors exposed to the elements, which could so easily cause malfunction and failure, compromising the operation of a vehicle.
